Waranara Early Education Centre, located at the former South Sydney Hospital site opened in September 2018.
Our purpose-built centre provides 74 much needed places for children in the Green Square precinct. Waranara is a Gadigal word meaning ‘to seek’. The name recognises Sydney’s traditional custodians and highlight’s the centre’s focus on early learning and play.
The child care centre is architecturally designed, with modern and naturally inspired early learning spaces that are custom-built for early education. The single-level building provides direct access for children to explore the outdoor playgrounds that include a kitchen and digging patch as well as water and sand play.
A highly experienced educator, Tanya Elsinger has been appointed as Centre Director and qualified teachers will lead each age group, providing early learning for all children.
Waranara Early Education Centre provides affordable care with priority access offered to children with additional support needs, children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, children from low-income families and children who speak a language at home other than English.
We look forward to welcoming you to Waranara Early Education Centre.
