About our centre

Welcome to Goodstart Woree - Toogood Road!

We're a culturally safe, nurturing early learning centre located in the heart of Woree on Gimuy Wulabara Yidinji Country. Our service offers an inclusive and empowering early learning environment for children from nursery to kindergarten.

Each of our educators takes pride in building meaningful connections with children and families from all backgrounds.

With a longstanding team, strong community partnerships, and a focus on cultural inclusion, we offer more than childcare - we provide a place where every child feels seen, heard, and supported to grow.

Our child-led, play-based programs are tailored to meet unique developmental needs and celebrate every child's voice. Why not book a tour? Our team would love to welcome you.

Why families choose us:

  • Deep cultural connection with local Elders and Torres Strait Islander educators

  • Stable, experienced team with strong relationships and low turnover

  • Children’s council and voice-led learning program approach

  • Dedicated support and a safe environment for families with higher needs

  • Nature-rich outdoor areas and eco-conscious education

  • Renovated centre facilities, including new fencing and signage

  • Funded kindergarten program with trauma-informed, small group teaching

Each of our learning spaces is designed to be age-appropriate, vibrant, sensory-rich and welcoming.

Outdoors, children explore veggie patches, bike tracks and play areas designed to inspire imagination and movement.

We work closely with diverse families - including foster and grandparent carers - to co-create strong educational pathways.

Whether through our cultural celebrations, children's council, or local community engagement, we aim to ensure every child feels confident, capable and connected.

We invite you to see our centre in action. Book a tour today and let us show you how we can support your child's learning journey, every step of the way.

Learn more about Goodstart Woree – Toogood Road

  • At Goodstart Woree – Toogood Road, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways.

    We prioritise:

    1. Holistic Development: Supporting cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
    2. Family and Community Engagement: Building strong partnerships with families and the community to create a supportive network for each child.
    3. Inclusive Environment: Celebrating diversity and ensuring that all children feel valued, respected, and included.
    4. Lifelong Learning: Instilling a love of learning by encouraging exploration, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners.

  • Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them.

Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.

We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

  • At our Woree – Toogood Road centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our kindergarten program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start school.

  • At Goodstart, we believe all children deserve the best possible start in life, which includes access to high-quality early childhood education and care. We offer:

    • Discounts on multiple days
    • All day sessions
    • Discounted shorter sessions
    • Fee assistance programs for families that need support
  • considered, and our learning goals reflect them. Using Storypark, a wonderful communication platform, we stay in close touch with families and ensure you're well informed about your child's development and achievements.

My kids have been here since they were 6 and 4 months old. Now going into kindy and senior toddlers…They absolutely adore their teachers and have made some really close friends along the way. They are our home away from home. We took a 3 month holiday and came back. It was like we never left. Forever grateful for the whole team at Goodstart.
