Goodstart centres
Constructed in 2016, the architecturally designed centre has a striking rooftop play area with views of the city. A nearby playground, The John Birth Memorial, has been upgraded for the centre, and a private bridge over the top of Berwick Lane provides a link to another outdoor learning space.
We have five age-based playrooms across three levels, which are all geared to enhance the children’s learning and development. There’s plenty of space for the children to play and explore, including a large sandpit, large shady trees and gardens, and a variety of outdoor and indoor equipment.
Children at the centre have access to stimulating early childhood learning experiences and curriculum developed and delivered by experienced and qualified teachers. Programs are designed in line with the Early Years' Learning Framework, to enrich child’s individual needs and interests.
We also have a qualified cook who cooks fresh, healthy and nutritious meals for the children each day. The centre provides all meals during the day, including morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
Priority access is provided for children with additional support needs, children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and children who speak a language at home other than English.

Burcu Seren
With a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, I am passionate about overseeing both the educational programs and the care provided at our centre. I’ve been in the Early Childhood sector for over 8 years, including 5 years as a Director. Throughout my career, I’ve worked across various private and non-profit services in Australia, supporting children from birth to five years old.
My Early Learning Philosophy:
I deeply believe that a child’s first experiences in early childhood education should be positive, as these early moments shape their lifelong attitude towards learning.
What I love about our community:
It’s the people! Whether it's a quick hello in the morning or the incredible support we receive during our local fundraising efforts, the community is truly built by the amazing people who are a part of it.
A little more about me:
When I’m not at the centre, you’ll likely find me spending quality time with my family, enjoying the beach on a sunny day, or juggling various activities with my son.
Why your child will thrive with us:
At East Sydney Learning Centre, we are committed to providing a safe, calm, and nurturing environment that sparks children’s curiosity, wonder, and intellectual engagement by stimulating their five senses.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family into our centre!
