Goodstart Golden Square is located in a quiet residential area that is close to local shops, schools, sporting facilities and bus services.
Our centre is a 135 place centre with 8 rooms. Our rooms while working as individual rooms have a strong sense of community working closely together. We have 5 yards allowing our children to explore age appropriate and challenging indoor/outdoor programs throughout the year.
Our Educators implement individual learning plans for each child that is guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Developmental Framework (VEYLDF). We work in partnership with our families who we respect as the child’s first educator and work in collaboration to set goals, incorporate each family beliefs and cultures and expectations.
As you enter our building you are welcome to explore our Foodshare pantry who we are so grateful to Bendigo Foodshare for assisting us to provide pantry items for our families to take each week. Our deliver arrives each Tuesday morning.
At Goodstart Golden Square our team is passionate about inclusion, we welcome all children’s support teams into our centre and attend team meetings to ensure a holistic approach towards your child’s goals. Our team will assist families to link to services to assist their individual needs and provide support to each family’s needs.

We appreciate how hard finding the right fit centre can be and navigating Centrelink and the enrolment processes. We can assist to complete enrolment forms, guide you through Child Care Subsidy applications and support you to start our orientation journey. Hi name is Joanne and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Golden Square.

I hold my Bachelors of Early Childhood and Education and I have been the director here at Golden Square since August 2022. I have been with Goodstart for 20 years with majority of those years in a management position.

I have lived in Bendigo for the past 13 years where I live with my husband and two children who are both now in Primary school.

I believe the learning in the early years sets the foundation for each individual child’s learning journey. Access to quality early learning programs with engaging environment lead by the children’s interests, incorporating intentional teaching and adaptable curriculums to meet each individual child’s needs starts that learning foundation.

I am passionate about inclusion and support families in any way I can. I believe in transparency with families and working in collaboration to navigate each child’s needs and development.

Hi, I’m Erin Jarvis and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Golden Square.

I have been the Centre Director at Goodstart Golden Square since 2024.

I hold a Diploma of Children’s Services, and take great joy in building strong and trusting relationships with children and their families.

I have been in the Early Childhood industry for over 15 years and as a Director for approximately 4 years. I have worked with Goodstart for the entirety of that time, not including completing my first ever placement with Goodstart Golden Square.

My Early Learning values:
I strongly believe that your child’s first experiences in early childhood education should be positive as it establishes their attitude for learning for their whole life.

What I love about our community:
The people! From a quick morning hello to the long-lasting relationships built on trust and communication. I find it extremely rewarding to help support families, especially through the tough times.

When I’m not in the centre, you’ll find me with my family or friends, usually camping by a lake or river somewhere.

The above fees are effective from 7 July 2025 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.
