About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Bellbird Park is located in a quiet residential area, close to Redbank Towns Square, local schools and parks, perfect for drop offs and picks ups.

Our vision is for each child’s uniqueness to never go unnoticed and to remember the importance of play in their everyday lives. We want to nurture and inspire each child’s individual way of learning through curiosity, creativity, imagination and self-expression. It is our vision to establish an ongoing partnership with our families maintaining trusted, respectful, positive and supportive family connections for our children.

Our rooms are aged from Toddlers (15 months) to Kindergarten and follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) and are implemented by our experienced and qualified team of 19 educators and teachers.

Our service implements the practice of Key Educator Relationships in each of the rooms. Through this we are aiming to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our relationships with the children and partnerships with our families. We pride ourselves on our ability to understand each child’s needs, personality and developmental goals through having strong and intimate connections with each family. Our centre is open to families from diverse backgrounds, opening our doors to families living in vulnerable circumstances, refugees as well as families with English as a second language. Ongoing support is offered from the initial engagement at enrolment through the family’s entire journey with us.

Outside our centre offers a large environment for each age group. We embrace this resource by undertaking indoor/outdoor play daily. We have a sandpit, swing set, deck, pet chickens, water troughs, cubby house, wooden train, natural wooden early learning gym and a wonderful merging of natural and manmade elements to give the children every opportunity to explore and stretch their imaginations.

As a service we acknowledge and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities as well as the diverse cultural communities within our service and local community. We pride ourselves on our diverse range of cultures throughout our centre and love celebrating our multiculturalism through our educational programs. Our service values inclusion of all children within an identified care environment to ensure all children’s needs are met to the best of our abilities. We have strong connections with many local schools including Woodlinks State School, Kruger State School, Augusta State School and Fernbrooke State School with our ECT working alongside them to ensure the best possible transition to school for our Kindergarten children.

We would welcome the opportunity to meet you and your family. Come along and meet the team and take a tour of our centre.

Anne Pickels

Centre Director

My name is Annie Pickels and I am the centre director at Goodstart Bellbird Park.

I have been working at Goodstart Bellbird Park since 2013. Over this time, I have developed a passion for this service, the families, children, and educators and treat the service like a second home. I completed my Bachelor of Early Childhood through QUT in 2011 and love using my skills every day to better our younger generation and to support the many families within our service.

I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere to which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually and socially. It is my desire as a leader to help children meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supportive, and invites the sharing of ideas. I have studied inclusive education, indigenous education, children with disabilities and learning difficulties through my degree and these experiences have influenced what I value, believe and practise as a qualified early childhood teacher.

I strive for a centre where there is opportunity for continual learning and growth. Teaching is a lifelong learning process of learning about new philosophies and new strategies, learning from parents and the community, learning from colleagues and especially from the children. Children have taught me to open my mind and my heart to the joys, innocence and the diversity of ideas in the world.

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Bellbird Park’s family
