Goodstart Kawana

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre is a located next to Kawana Shopping Centre and only one block from Buddina Beach, close to shops, schools and transport.

We cater for children between 15 months and school age. Each of the large air conditioned rooms – from Toddler to Kindergarten  - has a variety of toys, books and equipment for the children to learn and play with.
 
Our centre has a team of friendly, qualified early learning professionals, who have a wealth of experience in the early childhood field. Our team works in partnership with families to create an education and care program which is aligned to the Early Years’ Learning Framework, while still encouraging development at a pace appropriate to each individual child.

At Goodstart Kawana we run an Approved Kindergarten Program under the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme. Our Early Childhood Teacher runs this program with strong connections to our local schools, to support children in their transition to Prep.

Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
 
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Our playgrounds have plenty of shade and are wonderful places for the children to explore with sandpits, vegetable gardens, compost bins and native bees.

Through play and problem solving new discoveries can be made about themselves and their environment. Engaging in the various activities at the centre will help develop social, emotional, mental and physical skills.

Community connections are important to us and our central location allows us to explore a number of places. We run a Beach Kinder program and have regular trips to the library, as well as neighbouring Buddina State School.
