Goodstart Little Mountain Keneland Drive

Goodstart Early Learning Little Mountain is set on an acre of land surrounded by tropical bushland only minutes away from local shops, schools and transport. The back yard boasts real grass and trees to climb, a bike track, large sandpit, mud kitchen, swings, slides and vegetable gardens. The centre has four large air conditioned rooms catering for babies through to kindergarten aged children.  

The staff at Little Mountain are fully qualified with two University trained Early Childhood Teachers, and all other educators holding either an Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Certificate III, in Children’s and Community Services.

At Keneland Drive, we base our philosophy on the Early Years Learning Framework’s fundamental vision of Belonging, Being and Becoming.

We strive to have a welcoming feeling for our families with spaces that are inviting and engaging. We incorporate natural materials and furnishings to create a calm space for the children to be creative and imaginative. “I like digging with the big shovels and in that sandpit. Reducing visual noise in our surroundings provides an uninterrupted environment for the children to just BE in the moment. We believe in allowing children to have individual play to build confidence and independence, as well as for social interactions to develop positive relationships with peers and trusted educators, all the while learning and challenging themselves to become capable lifelong learners. “When I come to Kindy I like to feel good. We recognise the UN convention on the ‘Rights of the Child’, that all children have the right to be educated through play and be active participants in their own learning. We encourage and support children to BECOME confident in using their voice to express ideas, thoughts and views on daily life and educators use this knowledge and understanding of how each child learns to create active learning goals for them to achieve.

We support Uri Bronfenbrenner’s socio-ecological theory of early childhood development, building their sense of identity and wellbeing through social and ecological interactions. This is reflected in our community connections with excursions to our local schools, library, farms and parklands, and incursions from occupational therapists, dental services and physically active programs, such as tennis, soccer and dancing.
