About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Roma is central in our beautiful rural town. Community is fundamental to our service as we proudly value children as being the heart of everything we do.

Our service is open Monday to Friday 6am – 6pm, 52 weeks a year, only closing for public holidays. We cater for 74 children daily from six weeks to school age, with an approved Kindergarten program that helps transition children to school. All children are provided nutritious meals daily which are cooked in centre by our talented chef.

Our early learning context supports scaffolding children’s learning and development through quality interactions with peers, educators, families and community services. In the overall attempt to pave the way for an exploratory understanding of themselves, the world around them and their place in it. Our educational programs are reflective of emergent curriculum and adhere to guidelines set by ACECQA, National Quality Framework, The Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines.

Here at Goodstart Early Learning Roma we have a passionately dedicated and qualified team to ensure the high quality programming and practice for the children in our care.  Experiences at the centre afford children the opportunity to develop a plethora of skills in exploration, self-discovery, social interactions and problem solving among others, building towards outcomes as successful and confident learners.

Our service philosophy values partnerships with families, diversity, communities, environments, sustainability and learning through play opportunities for children. Goodstart Roma is proud to be the 2016 State Physical Environment winners for Queensland and we value the learning benefits from naturalising indoor and outdoor environments. Our outdoor play areas are spacious, shady and provide children with open-ended engaging opportunities. Our Goodstart family also consists of centre chickens, classroom pets of fish and birds as well our growing veggie patch.

We pride ourselves at Goodstart Roma on communication, supporting families, our open door policy and celebrating coming together as one community.

Tabatha Lippert

Centre Director

My name is Tabatha Lippert and I am the Centre Director for Goodstart Roma. My experience in the early years sector has developed over 12 years of working with all age groups of children within roles of Educator, Early Childhood Teacher (Kindergarten), Educational Leader and Assistant Director.

I obtained my Diploma in Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) in 2012 and am passionately working towards graduating a Bachelor of Early Childhood next year, following into completing my teacher’s registration late 2018.

My personal philosophy views forming positive relationships and early years learning as fundamental to children’s lifelong learning. I hold a deep passion for play based learning and believe in the varied benefits of engaging in natural textures and nature play inquiry opportunities. Therefore I place an extremely high value on viewing learning environments as a third teacher. Naturalising the indoor and outdoor environment, creating a warm, welcoming, inclusive and engaging spaces.

In partnership with our educator team, I strive to improve outcomes for all children and families. Building a sense of belonging for children and families within Goodstart Roma and the greater community.
