Close community, nature, and family life for educators in Tasmania
Kadie Cunningham, Assistant Director of Goodstart Kings Meadows, moved back for a better life.
Our early learning and long day care centre is a welcoming, inclusive space on Main North Road near the Gepps Cross intersection.
We have five age-based learning spaces with carefully designed indoor and outdoor environments, where children feel supported to learn, play and grow from nursery to preschool.
Passionate, nurturing educators deliver approved programs with tailored care for children aged six weeks to six years.
Our diverse and longstanding team brings a wealth of experience, languages, and cultural knowledge, creating a rich and supportive environment for families.
We invite you to take a tour and see the difference at our centre firsthand. We’d love to welcome your family.
Families value our centre's warm, inclusive environment and strong sense of community.
Children enjoy a range of incursions and special events, from Cool for Kids performances and Bunnings activities to annual dental checks and family movie nights.
We also run excursions to connect children with local schools and the wider community.
With our upgraded yards, every age group enjoys outdoor play that encourages discovery, independence and confidence.
We welcome families from all cultures and backgrounds, and pride ourselves on providing a safe, inclusive, community-driven space.
Whether you're looking for a nurturing nursery space or a government-approved kindergarten program, our dedicated team is here to support your child's learning journey.

At Goodstart Blair Athol, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways.
We prioritise:
Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners.
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them.
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.
At our Blair Athol centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our preschool program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start reception.
At Goodstart, we believe all children deserve the best possible start in life, which includes access to high-quality early childhood education and care. We offer:
We work closely with parents to ensure the individual needs, interests and strengths of children are considered, and our learning goals reflect them. Using Storypark, a wonderful communication platform, we stay in close touch with families and ensure you're well informed about your child's development and achievements.

I’m originally from Ireland and I’ve worked with children in Ireland, the UK and Australia since 2010. I hold an Honours Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care as well as a Post–Graduate Certificate in Primary Education. I’ve worked in all areas of Preschool and Primary school education from assistant educator to centre management and my passion has always been to provide the best quality education and care of young children.
I strongly believe that each child is a mighty learner capable of many things and eager to learn. I hope to oversee the implementation of an educational program that respects children’s individuality, listens to their voices and supports their development while allowing them to thrive and enjoy their childhood.
I hope to build strong relationships with my team and the families and maintain a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment.
I strongly believe that communication is a key component of supporting our children. If you have any questions or issues please feel free to approach me at any time. I look forward to working with you and your children.
