About our centre

Here at Goodstart Langwarrin, we care for up to 58 children per day. We offer 3 rooms catering for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Each room provides an age-appropriate educational program guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework, but the foundation of our Programs are based on the individual needs of each child, their current interests and their family orientated goals. We believe that families are our primary partners and that following the lead of our children will create the best possible learning outcomes.

Our Centre Philosophy

At Goodstart Langwarrin, we believe in encouraging and supporting children to express themselves by providing experiences that respect and celebrate their own uniqueness and strengths. Our educators facilitate quality learning moments while assisting the classroom and outdoor spaces to be the third teacher. ‘We encourage children to develop confidence and resilience by giving children choices, responsibilities and opportunities to initiate their own learning at their own pace’-Jennifer, Early Childhood Teacher. ‘Using children-lead interests to create play spaces and activities we encourage play and curiosity. Progressive transitions through the day promote calmness in the children and encourage autonomy and choice in their day’- Kathryn, Toddler Educator. ‘To support and build strong relationships with children, we encourage engagement in play and learning and slow rituals and routines that involve the children’- Ashlee, Assistant Director.

Our educators pride themselves in building strong, meaningful and trusting relationships with the children which flows through to the children’s peer relationships. ‘To ensure we are present with the children we role model, scaffold and build relationships. Less busy work and more time with them’   -Sarah, Centre DirectorFor me I value relationships with families and children. Having strong educator and family relationships makes starting each day for working parents and carers a breeze knowing their child is in capable and nurturing hands’- Caitlin, Lead Educator.

Our centre strives to be a place where we guide and support children to become their best selves, while educators work in collaboration and partnership with families and the centre’s community. ‘We aim for children, educators and families to build strong relationships together so that everyone can thrive. When we collaborate and support one another, we have the greatest chance of achieving the best outcome for all children’- Maureen, Educational Leader‘Patience, compassion, love, caring and compassion for young children. With these qualities the educator can help build on the child’s skills and abilities, making them feel valued and appreciated”- Eloisa, Educator.

Goodstart Langwarrin also values their connection to the world that surrounds them. Through incursions and excursions, collaborating with inclusion agencies and working alongside allied health professionals, we all help to support the evolution of our children’s learning and wellbeing.

‘We learn from children, we learn with children, and we learn about children. We as educators draw on families’ knowledge about their children to ensure that we create the link between home, community and early learning. ‘We would like the children of Goodstart Langwarrin to build up positive attitudes towards learning, a thirst for knowledge and an empathy, tolerance and respect for all cultures’- Parveen, Educator.

‘Words and actions are powerful, and you never know what a child will remember as an adult who reflects on their time in care and how our actions impact their view of self’- Sharyn, Educator. With this in mind, we aim to make our centre a positive, inclusive and supportive place to be for everyone.

Centre Director

Hello, My name is Sarah, and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Langwarrin.

I have been working at Goodstart for 23 Years. I have been in many roles in my time at Goodstart and have enjoyed each moment.

I enjoy coming to the centre each day to see the children learning and developing. I am proud of our centre and our team of educators, who work in unison to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all of our children.

I love to see the children reaching their own personal potential and grow and develop while attending our centre. Their love of learning and curiosity inspires me to continue to be creative.

I look forward to making your experience here an enjoyable and memorable one for you and your family.
