Goodstart Rosebud Eastbourne Road consists of six educational rooms with three large, secure, shaded playgrounds suitable to all age groups and developmental needs. We are situated on the main road in Rosebud and are easy to find.

We have a wonderful team of educators, many of whom have been with the centre for several years. We offer a Government-funded kindergarten program which is run by our qualified Early Childhood Teacher and incorporated into our long day care hours.

Here at Goodstart Rosebud Eastbourne Road, we implement a fun and educational learning program in every room which meets the individual needs of each child according to the Early Years Learning Framework. Our aim is to build strong partnerships between our children, families, community, and educators, as well as creating a safe, secure and healthy environment.

We host a variety of events throughout the year which we welcome parents and families to attend, including themed events, ‘special friends’ days and exciting incursions.

Our child care centre hours aim to meet the flexible needs of children and their families, offering care all year round except public holidays and weekends between the hours of 7.00am to 6.00pm.

Hello, I’m Mel Thomson and I’m the Centre Director at Goodstart Rosebud – Eastbourne Rd.

I have worked here at Eastbourne Rd for almost four years, beginning with the Educational Leader role, the Assistant Director role and now the Centre Director role.

I have been in the Early Childhood sector for over 26 years. I have worked in a range of centres and roles including Room Leader, Educational leader, Assistant Director, Centre Director and Training and Assessing students who were undertaking their Certificate 3 and Diploma qualifications.

My Early Learning values:
I value that children learn more in the early years of their life than any other time, and a nurturing educational environment with strong meaningful relationships in those years will encourage a positive learning journey for life.

What I love about our community:
I love that our community is close knit and welcoming. We strive to provide a strong sense of belonging for families and communities and value the connections we have.

A little more about me:
I have two teenagers, and I also have two cats. I enjoy reading, going to the football and spending time with my family.

Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

The above fees are effective from 7 July 2025 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.

* Estimates are calculated based on CCS rates as of January 2026, for an activity level of 72 activity hours on a 10hr session and a 3 day booking.
