About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Seymour is centrally located in the heart of town adjacent to the TAFE, close to local schools, shops and main roads.

We have a friendly atmosphere and quality, fun and educational care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years. Our educators pride themselves on offering a unique, individual and respectful environment for our children, promoting and fostering their needs and development to ensure they are happy, healthy and reach their optimal potential.

We believe all children have the right to sense a feeling of comfort, compassion and belonging in their environment. We believe teamwork is the key to a well-run centre and you will see this through the longevity of most of our educators.  At Goodstart Seymour we promote this to ensure a stable and consistent learning environment for our children.

Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.

This is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.

Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability.

We towards sustainability and we love our natural outdoor play space, real grass and veggie patch as well as a balance of natural and manmade elements.

We endeavour to support and involve all our families and the wider community in sharing and supporting our centre, with lots of community events on offer Seymour will not only care for your children but be a great place to raise them.

We warmly welcome new families, so please stop by! We would love to explore how we can support you and your child on their pathway to lifelong learning.

Vanessa Vanrooyen

Centre Director

Hi, I’m Vanessa Vanrooyen and I’m the Centre Director at Goodstart Seymour.

I have been the Centre Director at Goodstart Seymour since 2022.

I hold an advance Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Diploma in Montessori. I have been in the Early Childhood industry - both private and non for profit - for over 12 years. My past roles include senior educator and management positins, and I have been a Centre Director for 1.5 years.

I take great joy and satisfaction in overseeing the educational programs and care at Goodstart Seymour. I enjoy working closely with the families and the children within the service, supporting their needs and helping them throughout their journey within early childhood education.

My team mean the world and I value supporting educators in creating and engaging children in their rooms to provide the best care possible and supporting them through milestones of development.

I strongly believe that your child’s first experience in early childhood education should be positive as it establishes their attitude for learning for their whole life.

I feel blessed to live in a small, involved community that supports our educational program and practices. We connect with a variety of organisations within our community to support our children and families to develop a sense of belonging and a valued part of our community.

At Goodstart Seymour we see our children as strong, confident and capable involved learners and we believe giving them the opportunity to lead their own learning through sharing their ideas and their thinking and be able to have fun while doing so. We encourage them to make choices and decisions and recognise their individual achievements while showing respect for ideas of others and how their actions can have consequences.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family.
