About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Albany is conveniently located near the heart of the Albany CBD, on the corner of a nice quiet leafy cross road. We are close to many amenities such as a Pharmacy, Pioneer Doctors Surgery, Gym and Rainbow Coast Neighbourhood Centre.

We are a purpose built service, with five large rooms, a kitchen and cook, and enough play space outdoors for children to discover and explore at their will. We are fortunate enough to have two Nursery Rooms where we can tailor our learning programs to suit the age groups of our foundation years. Nursery 1 (6 weeks – 15 months), Nursery 2 (15 – 24 months) and then we have our Toddlers room with our terrific twos (2 – 3 years), and our Kindergarten (3 - 5 years).

Our teaching team has an abundance of experience and skills with highly qualified and nurturing educators. We are proud to offer a Kindergarten program that caters for our transitioning children to mainstream educational facilities and supports their learning development in their early years education.

We embrace the Early Years Learning Framework by supporting each child’s individual learning and development through a play based curriculum that is central to all practices of the service. We believe that play based learning provides opportunities for children to learn through a method, that is natural to them and is intrinsically motivated and not forced upon them.

Our centre was assessed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority and we received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding’. This process is a National Framework, which rates all Childcare Centres across Australia against the National Quality Standards.

Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. With beautiful trees for natural shade as well as sandpits, bike paths, swings, a wooden fort, bark pit area, pet guinea pigs and veggie patches, we offer a spacious and interesting environment for children to play and explore.

We also have a beautiful indigenous cultural garden which enhances our commitment to sustainability, cultural understanding and community diversity. Goodstart Albany acknowledges the diversity of the community and therefore caters to all within the service. Our educators also extend from a diverse background and this is reflected in all that we do at the centre. We acknowledge that all children have the right to an education and we strive to ensure that a quality practice is delivering such a service to the community.

We invite you to book a tour of our centre to meet our team and to see for yourself our commitment to your child’s early learning journey.

Hayley Cox

Centre Director

Hi, My name is Hayley Cox and I am the Centre Director of Goodstart Albany.

I am the mother to two beautiful boys who fuel my passion for this industry. My career in early childhood education began in 2009 and since then, I have obtained my certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and have been working in the Education industry for over 10 years. I have worked in many roles within this industry and am grateful to be able to have a positive impact on the lives of the children who come to us for early education and care.

My passion for early childhood education comes from taking pride in opportunities we can offer children of the next generation. My goal as Centre Director is to provide opportunity for all children to reach their full potential, to create an inspiring learning environment and ensure all children and families feel a sense of belonging when they walk into our centre.

As the Centre Director, I work closely with my team, families and our local community to ensure that our children receive the highest quality of care and education at our service. As children learn many skills through play, I strongly believe in using our environments as the children’s third teacher and I am continuously striving to exceed this with my team of wonderful Educators.

Why not book a centre tour and see what we have to offer you and your family.
