Goodstart Thornlie is a high-quality child care centre with warm and friendly educators. We are located on a cul-de-sac in a convenient pocket of town, close to schools, shops and community facilities.
We offer our children the opportunity to experience activities in a wide range of areas including science, maths, computers, art and craft and physical skills. And we promote gender equality and cultural diversity in all aspects of our programming. All children are treated as individuals with unique personalities as we support them to grow and learn at their own pace.
Our centre has two qualified Early Childhood Teachers who run our Kindergarten program, as well as our Pre-Kindergarten program. We are fortunate to have many multi-lingual educators who share their language and culture within the centre.
All of our rooms are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take the important transition to school.
Meals are provided and on our site qualified cook creates fresh and nutritious meals daily, catering for all dietary requirements. We outsource Halal meat to meet cultural requirement of children in our service. We support breastfeeding where we have breastfeeding area in cot room and parent room, offering mothers to come back throughout the day to feed their child.
Our close partnerships with families enable us to communicate effectively, to meet the developmental and care requirements of all children in our care. This means we can tailor child goals and program outcomes to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths, as well as respect the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age-appropriate play spaces and equipment, all designed to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability.
Our service plays an important role in the lives of our families and we hope that each family enjoys being a part of our centre. We enjoy working with the broader community as well. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family.
