Goodstart Magill opens its doors

Goodstart Early Learning Magill – Penfold Road has been officially opened by Education Minister John Gardner and Goodstart’s chief executive officer Julia Davison.

The purpose-built centre offers high quality early education and care for families and caters for up to 90 children.
Goodstart’s chief executive officer Julia Davison said the centre was a state-of-the-art facility.

“We have worked hard to design a space that’s sustainable and uses natural elements in keeping with the history of the local community,” she said.

“The centre is built on the site of an old family home and we are fortunate to have three family members of the former owners at the opening today.”

“We have photographs of the original homestead hanging inside and pavers from the original driveway have been recycled and are part of the outdoor toddler area. We have also preserved a banana tree and grapevine which were planted many years ago,” Ms Davison said.

“Marianne, Giulia and Jim (pictured above with Julia Davison) grew up on this site and spent many happy childhood years here.”

“We are very fortunate to be part of such a close-knit community with such a rich local history.”

“As a not-for-profit, children are the focus of everything we do and our teachers and educators all over Australia work hard every day to ensure that children attending our centres get the best possible start if life.”

Centre director Bianca Edom said the centre had been designed in keeping with the local environment.

“We are fortunate to be situated on such amazing premises here at Magill – Penfold Road. Our team is committed to providing a high-quality learning environment where all aspects of the individual are celebrated and supported.”
