Puffy apple pie jaffle

This is a quick, easy and delicious afternoon snack or dessert idea. For an extra indulgence serve with a dollop of cream or ice-cream on the side.

  • 2 frozen puff pastry sheets
  • 4 x apples diced and cooked
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon raisins/sultanas
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons icing sugar
  1. Dice apples
  2. Add water and apples to saucepan and simmer on low heat for 15 mins
  3. Preheat jaffle maker until green light switches on
  4. Cut each pastry square into 4 equal squares and set aside to thaw
  1. Mix together the cooked apple, raisins/sultanas, maple syrup and half of the cinnamon
  2. Place 2 pastry squares into jaffle maker.
  3. Spoon half the apple mixture evenly between the two and place 2 pastry squares on top. Cook 3-5 minutes or until pastry is golden and crisp. Repeat with remaining pastry and apple filling
  4. Dust with cinnamon and icing sugar
