Puffy apple pie jaffle
This is a quick, easy and delicious afternoon snack or dessert idea. For an extra indulgence serve with a dollop of cream or ice-cream on the side.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 frozen puff pastry sheets
- 4 x apples diced and cooked
- ½ cup water
- 1 tablespoon raisins/sultanas
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons icing sugar
METHOD
- Dice apples
- Add water and apples to saucepan and simmer on low heat for 15 mins
- Preheat jaffle maker until green light switches on
- Cut each pastry square into 4 equal squares and set aside to thaw
- Mix together the cooked apple, raisins/sultanas, maple syrup and half of the cinnamon
- Place 2 pastry squares into jaffle maker.
- Spoon half the apple mixture evenly between the two and place 2 pastry squares on top. Cook 3-5 minutes or until pastry is golden and crisp. Repeat with remaining pastry and apple filling
- Dust with cinnamon and icing sugar
