Under the Early Learning Facilities Upgrade grant, delivered as part of the Victorian Government’s 2016- 17 Children’s Facilities Capital Program, Goodstart Swan Hill will receive $186,975 to support educational opportunities offered as part of the centre’s services.
“We are delighted to receive this funding which will go a long way to providing greater access to our quality early learning programs, and also help to rejuvenate our indoor and outdoor learning areas,” said Kayla Bate, Centre Director.
“Importantly, the funding allows us to support 11 more children in our kindergarten program as well as provide another 10 places across the rest of the centre, allowing families more options for quality early learning and care for their children,” Mrs Bate said.
Goodstart State Manger for Victoria Sharon Whiteman said investing in early childhood development and wellbeing is crucial.
“Goodstart applauds the government for their investment in early learning services across Victoria,” Mrs Whiteman said.
“We know from extensive research that children who receive a quality early childhood education start ahead in life are more likely to stay ahead and be successful in life – this can bring significant benefits to children and families, and to society as a whole.”
