Goodstart kindy children take part in mini Olympics

Goodstart centres

Goodstart Daisy Hill children took part in a mini Olympics on August 18 to celebrate the end of the games in Rio.

The mini Olympics included a range of fun physical activities and games with educators and their families cheering the children on. They also enjoyed a healthy fruit salad (picture as the Olympic rings, below) at the end of the session and were presented with certificates for taking part.

Goodstart Daisy Hill early childhood teacher Natalie Todd said the special event was the first event of its kind to be held at the centre.
“We brought the children and their families together to celebrate the history of the Olympics and its unique spirit, which we knows goes well beyond just sporting achievements,” Mrs Todd said.
“With the Olympics, there is a magic sense of unity and participation as countries all over the world come together to celebrate their cultural diversity and talents, which is a great message to share with young children,” she said.

A number of Goodstart centres held mini Olympics celebrations, including Belmont and Heatley, and many are now looking foward to Superhero Day on September 2.
