Goodstart Pakenham granola goodness

This delicious and nutritious home-made granola recipe is a great alternative to store-bought breakfast options and has been provided by our very own Goodstart Pakenham centre

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 cups of rolled oats
  • 2 cups shredded coconut
  • 1 cup sultanas
METHOD
  • Heat oven to 160c (fan forced)
  • Line 2 trays with baking paper 
  • In a large bowl toss together oats and coconut
  • In a saucepan over low heat, combine honey, oil & butter, stir until combined.
  • Add cinnamon, salt and vanilla
  • Pour over oat mix and toss until coated
  • Spread over trays and bake for 30-40 mins until golden brown
  • Let cool and add sultanas
  • Store in an air tight container for up to 1 month
  • Serve on its own or with your choice of milk or yoghurt
