Qualified Educator roles at Goodstart

Are you passionate about giving children the best possible start in life? Looking for a place that will invest in your career development and support you to enjoy life outside of work?

Our dedicated, attentive Educators play a pivotal role in the crucial early years of a child’s life. They’re supportive in the true sense of the word, guiding children’s learning and offering assistance to their centre team. And with plenty of opportunities for training and professional development, they know they’re building a stable career that truly matters.

Our Senior Educators have an incredible impact - not just on the children they support but also on Goodstart’s centres and practices. They develop and deliver educational programs for the children in their rooms and guide fellow Educators to implement these quality programs. Working closely with the Centre Leadership Team, Senior Educators mentor the next generation of Educators to deepen their early years knowledge and practice.

Why choose to work as an Educator at Goodstart?

VIEWSupporting you in making a difference
We believe every person should feel supported to be the best they can be. We’ve listened to what our people need, and we’ve worked with them to implement even better conditions and benefits. The result? Empowering environments where your valuable contribution is recognised.

Goodstart is a pretty special organisation. We’re for children and not for profit. And by providing high-quality early learning in a safe and caring environment, our people give children the educational, developmental and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and beyond. It’s all part of our vision for Australia’s children to have the best possible start in life.

What this means for you:
  • You’ll support the delivery of high-quality early learning programs and practices within your centre, making a real difference to children every day
  • By building strong relationships with children and families, you’ll help make sure early education is responsive and inclusive for everyone
  • With a desire to continuously develop your skills, you’ll be excited about the ability to actively contribute to your team

VIEWWorking conditions with you in mind
We recognise the incredible work you do and the difference you make in the lives of children every day. But we also know you value your time outside of the workplace, and that looks different for everyone. Our flexible working conditions are designed to be exactly that: flexible, with no “one-size-fits-all” approach.

What this means for you:
  • We support you with a range of shift options, including part-time and casual roles, with opportunities to work from home
  • You’ll get two dedicated wellbeing days each year so that you can put yourself first
  • We offer the option to purchase extra leave for greater work-life balance
  • Generous discounts on childcare, insurance, travel and technology to make life easier whenever we can

VIEWProviding you with security and support
We’re big, but we have a big heart, too. With more than 670 centres across Australia, we offer the security, reassurance and support of a large network - and with that comes job stability. Although we’re a large organisation, we recognise that everyone has individual goals and needs.

What this means for you:
  • We truly value you - that’s why we pay more. You’ll get at least 4% above the award rate, which will increase to 5% by 2023
  • Paid parental leave because we know family matters
  • You’ll get dedicated support and guidance on a range of topics, such as safety, teaching and inclusion, delivered face to face or virtually by our centre support team
  • Every Goodstart centre has an Educational Leader who supports and monitors the educational program, providing coaching and guidance so that you’ll never feel out of your depth

VIEWA safe and welcoming environment
At Goodstart, health, safety and wellbeing are more than just words – they’re who we are and what we do to support you. We provide you with programs and ongoing support, such as live interactive webinars with our national safety and wellbeing team and free 24/7 independent counselling services to ensure you feel safe in your environment.

We’re an equal opportunity employer, and we’re proud of our inclusive and diverse work environment. We want you to be comfortable being yourself, so we support individual growth and strong teams made up of many different cultures and backgrounds.

What this means for you:
  • With our sector-leading safety policies and procedures, you’ll always have peace of mind
  • You’ll have access to free 24/7 independent counselling for support when you need it most
  • We have a dedicated national safety team that prioritises your safety and wellness
  • Our Reconciliation Action Plan embeds inclusive practices into our centres to ensure everyone feels welcome

VIEWPersonal development and career opportunities
We offer professional development opportunities throughout the year to keep you up to date with leading-edge early learning practices. We also provide training to help you put inclusive practices in place, so you can support more children from diverse backgrounds or with additional needs. And because we have over 670 centres across Australia, there are plenty of chances to advance your career if you choose.

As an early learning professional, you’ll benefit from a national network of expertise led by our Head of Pedagogy and Practice. Our dedicated interactive online learning hub provides you with focused learning opportunities, so you can upskill and set new benchmarks in early learning practices.

What this means for you:
  • You’ll have access to our Thrive program, which supports hundreds of educators to study towards their Bachelor degrees
  • Options to gain Certificate and Diploma qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care through our partnerships with Registered Training Organisations
  • Our live webinars and interactive learning hub enable you to develop your skills in line with your individual goals
