Why work at Goodstart

If you’re looking to work for an organisation that has a clear and inspiring purpose, offers a flexible and family-friendly work environment, and where your personal development and study is valued and encouraged, Goodstart Early Learning could be the place for you!

We’re a not-for-profit social enterprise, meaning we exist purely to improve the lives of Australia’s children and their families. And we’re in a great position to really make a difference – as Australia’s largest provider of early learning and care, our people nurture more than 70,000 children each year across more than 670 centres.

Our purpose is for children to have the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life. We have 4 guiding principles:

• Children are central to everything we do
• Families are our primary partners
• Our people make the difference
• Being a valued part of each unique community

If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, we’d love to hear from you!

Appreciation and recognition

Our people are recognised for the incredible work they do and the difference they make in the lives of children all over Australia.

Our teachers and educators play a critical role in the early years for Australia’s children.

We offer our teachers wages that are on par with state primary school teachers across the country.

Our educators also recently received at wage increase, rising to 5 per cent by 2024.

Health and wellbeing support

Health and wellbeing matters to Goodstart. We have a dedicated team of professionals providing programs and ongoing support to each and every one of our people in ways that really make a difference. Things like live interactive webinars with our national safety and wellbeing team, two personal wellbeing days a year and free 24/7 independent counselling services are just some of the ways we show our support.

Job security and stability

We are big, but we have a big heart too. With more than 670 centres across Australia, we offer our people the security, reassurance and support of a large network while ensuring each centre is a unique part of their local community.

We continually invest in our people, both professionally and personally. We stand side by side and support our team of Educators, Teachers, Centre Directors and support people so they can continue to provide the best possible learning experiences for our children all over Australia.

Safe working environment

Safety starts with everyone. But at Goodstart it's more than that – it's who we are and what we do. Safety, health and wellbeing are more than just words to us; they are a personal commitment and a promise we make every day to our children, our families and each other.

Committed to making a difference

As a not-for-profit social enterprise, Goodstart reinvests in the areas that make the biggest impact on outcomes for children – our centres, our practice and programs, and our people.

We know it takes time and planning to deliver high quality early learning experiences that truly make a difference for children. Our educators receive up to four hours of non-contact planning and programming time a fortnight while our teachers receive up to six.

We also offer a multitude of professional development opportunities, to support our teams to dive deep into the topics that really matter to them, or be a steppingstone to continued professional and personal growth and career progression.

We are an equal opportunity employer that is proud of our inclusive and diverse work environment. We support and encourage individual growth and strong teams that are made up of many different cultures and backgrounds.
