About Goodstart Albany Creek Flamingo Drive
Goodstart Early Learning, Albany Creek – Flamingo Drive is located right on Albany Creek Road, making it convenient for daily drop-off and pick-ups.
Our philosophy here at Flamingo Drive very much aligns with Goodstart’s guiding principles. We believe that children are central to everything we do, and this shows in our everyday practices and interactions. Our children’s interests and strengths guide our programs and experiences, and we use children’s voice to plan interesting and fun learning experiences every day.
The centre provides high quality learning programs for children aged from six weeks to kindergarten. All rooms use the Early Years Learning Framework, and the Goodstart Practice Guide to provide programs that cater to individual interests and strengths. We believe that every child is unique and special and this is reflected within our interactions with each child.
Our Kindergarten room is run by our qualified Early Childhood Teacher, Kate, who has been at our centre for 20 years. Our Kindergarten children participate in an excursion program that offers regular visits to the local schools, Albany Creek Library and Kumbartcho Nature Sanctuary. During these excursions, children are able to connect with, and learn skills to help them become an integral part of their local community.
We use Storypark to keep our families up to date on everything that’s happening in our centre. Each day, a daily story about the room is completed and uploaded onto Storypark so you can read this from your smartphone or home computer. Weekly newsletters from the Director means you are always connected with the centre and enables us to stay in close contact with families, ensuring open and clear communication.
We have a community garden at the entrance of our centre with vegetables and herbs including strawberries, carrots, basil and rosemary. Our families are welcome to take from our garden to use in their cooking at home. The community garden is a relaxing space to just sit and reflect. We have a worm farm and compost bins, and children recycle their food scraps daily.
Literacy is important to us, so our centre library is set up to incorporate small group activities and a space for children to relax and unwind. We engage children in storytelling experiences daily so they develop a love of books and literacy.
Our amazing educators are all qualified with many years of experience in the field and with Goodstart. With very low staff turnover, our educators have established relationships with all our families, and each other, which provides a nurturing and team orientated environment for children to learn.
We invite you to come and visit our centre, meet our team and see for yourself our commitment to your child’s early learning journey.
