Hello families, my name is Maira, and I am honoured to be the Centre Director here at Goodstart Ballajura.

I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and have been working in the Early Childhood sector for over seven years, with experience as both an Early Childhood Teacher and Assistant Director.

I am deeply passionate about supporting children’s growth, wellbeing, and development, and I believe that strong, respectful relationships with families are at the heart of a child’s learning journey.

I am committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued, and confident to explore, learn, and grow. Working alongside our wonderful and dedicated team, I strive to ensure that every child and family’s experience at Goodstart Ballajura is enriching, meaningful, and filled with opportunities to reach their full potential.

A little fun fact about me: I’m originally from Canada and still have a soft spot for snowy winters, though I much prefer the Australian sunshine!

At Ballajura, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

With multi-child discounts and government funded Kindergarten/Preschool in some states, out-of-pocket costs could be even less than you think!

The above fees are effective from 7 July 2025 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.

* Estimates are calculated based on CCS rates as of January 2026, for an activity level of 72 activity hours on a 10hr session and a 3 day booking.
