About Goodstart Berwick
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Berwick is conveniently located near local schools and amenities and has on-site parking available to parents to aid with drop-off and pick-up.
Our centre has been a part of this community for approximately 15 years, with Goodstart operating at the premises for 3 years. The service is willing to support the local community in any way we can and endeavours to include the children into that community.
We currently have over 130 different families attending our centre. We have a very diverse culture within the service, amongst both families and staff and represented cultures include; Arabic, Filipino, Nepalese, Irish, Sri Lankan, New Zealanders, and more. Our service offers a 'Parent Room' for families to utilise anytime. This area includes information about the local schools, local businesses and family owned business, support services and more.
The team at Goodstart Berwick is a long-standing team. We have educators that have been working at the centre since its conception more than 12 years ago. The majority of the educators have been here on average 7 years, and the team work beautifully together.
Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.
Outside, our playground areas are a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces – with sandpits, dirt patch, vege patches, bike track, tepee, worm farm and lots of shaded space to run. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam.
We also have a cook at the centre providing tasty and nutritious meals for the children when tummies start to growl.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Our centre offers extra curricular programs such as; Jump for Joy and Kelly Sports. We have a Doctor that attends the service every Tuesday and can consult for general check ups, illnesses and immunisations where necessary.
Additionally, through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your family and learn a little about how we can best support you on the journey of lifelong learning.
