About Goodstart Blackwood
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Blackwood is a beautiful purpose-built centre located in the Adelaide Hills, in the lush leafy suburb of Blackwood. This is an old, established, close knit community and community pride is paramount. We are close to local shops and schools as well as community services.
Our ethos is to provide a safe, warm centre where learning occurs in a fun environment and all children are encouraged to reach their potential. Some of our educators have been here since the centre opened while others have joined our team recently and bring with them years of experience and lots of enthusiasm. The majority of our educators are Diploma qualified or studying towards their Diploma, and some have either completed or are studying towards their teaching degree.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. The children have lots of fun playing in our spacious yard with a big sand pit, climbing equipment, and garden beds. We also have two guinea pigs, frogs and a fish. Our guinea pigs are looked after by our kindy children and they love taking turns of bringing them home and caring for them.
We also have a cook at the centre providing tasty and nutritious meals for the children when tummies start to growl.
We also work closely with the local community and put our families in touch with local community services and government departments when required. Our door is always open, so please come in and have a chat about your childcare requirements.
We invite you to book a tour
and take a look around, meet the team and explore how we can support your child’s early learning journey. We look forward to welcoming you and your family! (If the tour times available don’t suit you or your family’s commitments please contact us to organise a different time).
