Goodstart Early Learning Joondalup is a welcoming three-room centre tucked behind Candlewood Shopping Centre, with Joondalup Primary School and Currambine Primary School just around five minutes away. Our smaller centre has a warm, home-like feel where children and families can build strong, lasting relationships with educators. With a diverse and experienced team, generous outdoor spaces and child-led learning, children are supported to explore, play and develop at their own pace.

A warm, home-like environment – As a smaller three-room centre, we offer a welcoming atmosphere where children and families can build close relationships and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Longstanding educators – Our experienced team includes educators who have been part of the centre or Goodstart for 10, 15 and 20+ years, providing consistency and familiar faces for children and families.
Space to explore outdoors – Each room has its own large outdoor yard, giving children plenty of space for physical play, exploration and age-appropriate experiences.
Qualified teachers – Two qualified teachers support learning across the centre, including one who leads the Kindergarten room and one who is the Educational Leader.
Supportive partnerships – We work closely with external professionals such as speech and occupational therapy services to support families and children's individual needs.
A diverse community – Our centre welcomes families from a range of cultural and economic backgrounds, with educators who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, Japanese, Afrikaans, Tagalog and Sinhala.
Growing and improving spaces – Recent upgrades include new physical and climbing equipment in the outdoor areas and flooring upgrades.

At Goodstart Joondalup, children are active participants in their learning, with educators following their interests, strengths and developing abilities. Through play-based learning, children have opportunities to explore, make choices, try new things and build confidence at their own pace. Educators observe and respond to what children are curious about, extending their learning through meaningful experiences and interactions. Strong relationships between educators, children and families help create a secure sense of belonging and support each child's individual development. We work in partnership with families to understand each child and create learning experiences that are meaningful to them.
Our Kindergarten room is supported by a qualified teacher who works alongside the experienced educator team to create engaging, play-based learning experiences. Children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, social skills and a love of learning through experiences that build on their interests and strengths. A second qualified teacher works as our Educational Leader, providing support for learning and practice across the centre.
Goodstart Joondalup values connections with families and the wider community. Children in the Kindergarten room enjoy Happy Feet twice a week and First Kick once a week, while our Toddler room sometimes takes part in gardening and volunteer experiences with families. These experiences give children opportunities to build relationships, explore new interests and participate in their local community.

Joining Goodstart Joondalup was a great decision and a decision that was made easily. Everyone is so welcoming and knows us by name. My daughter loves coming here and especially loves the nursery educators. I know when I drop her off each morning, she’s in good hands and is well looked after. My daughter has been attending Goodstart Joondalup since 2023. She has been in the nursery, the toddler rooms and is currently in the kindy class. In all three classes she has been so happy, she loves her teachers and her peers, and she is looked after so well. She has learnt so much, gained so much confidence, talks well and has impeccable social skills - a lot of these skills I put to Goodstart as I am a full-time working mum and she attends 5 days a week, full time. Whenever there is an incident or she feels unwell they communicate immediately and professionally, and I appreciate the care they have for her. There has not been a day since she has been there that I have felt uneasy or unhappy. Thank you Goodstart Joondalup! She is going to miss you next year when she moves to big school! You have done so much for her :)

The staff are amazing and always go above and beyond even to the extent of doing special training in my child’s medical condition during their own free time. We love the centre so much that I refuse to move my daughter even after moving 20kms away because it would feel like leaving family ❤️

We are incredibly lucky to be part of the Goodstart Joondalup community. Lisa is such a wonderful Centre Director who is genuine, knowledgeable, and welcoming each day. Our son has been attending this centre for 18months, and he has grown and developed enormously during this time. The Educators show such genuine care and love in a supporting and friendly environment. Community and social values are also emphasised here so that the kids are connected and active participants. Pretty much all the Educators are long term with zero turnover: so, the kids can rely on a consistently familiar setting. We will not be hesitating to send our (yet to be born) second child here once the time comes.

Hi there! My name is Lisa and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Joondalup.

I have been involved with the child care and early learning industry since 2004 and have a Diploma of Children's Services. During my career I have gained experience in all age groups and in a variety of roles including working as an assistant and qualified caregiver before taking on the role of Centre Director in 2006.

I believe that family is an important influence on a child's growth and development, and therefore welcome parents to attend our centre at any time - to ask questions, offer support and join in with the programs we provide for their children.

I'm committed to providing the best resources for our children so that they may grow and develop to their full potential, I support my team of educators to ensure we can all provide this.

It is our responsibility to deliver the highest quality in early learning opportunities, and it is a passion I share with the team I am fortunate to work with. With years of experience and excellent qualifications, this is a team of dedicated and committed professionals.

Structured Kindergarten Program

At Joondalup, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

With multi-child discounts and government funded Kindergarten/Preschool in some states, out-of-pocket costs could be even less than you think!

The above fees are effective from 6 July 2026 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.

* Estimates are calculated based on CCS rates as of January 2026, for an activity level of 72 activity hours on a 10hr session and a 3 day booking.
