Goodstart Early Learning Mont Albert is a warm and inviting centre with a homely feel, located in a residential area close to schools, shops and community facilities. We pride ourselves on being a family centric centre with children central to everything we do. Our mission is to make families and children feel at home here, ensuring a smiling familiar face is always greeting you and your child.
Our Learning Spaces:
In all our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten/ Preschool – we provide play-based educational programs which reflect the Early Years Learning Framework. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning. We have two outdoor areas, all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. Throughout the yards we have sandpits, undercover areas, veggie patches, worm farm, and obstacle courses/ frames for climbing.
Our staff are passionate, enthusiastic and incredibly dedicated to the children in their care. All our Educators hold formal qualifications within the field and are comprehensively trained in first aid and anaphylaxis. Some of our educators have been with us for up to 20 years! We have a very multicultural team with up to 11 different languages spoken across our Centre. All our Educators have a high level of knowledge of children’s development and different learning styles, and they provide creative and interesting curriculum activities.
Activities and Programs:
We offer a sports program, and music and movement program. Community is important to us so we have partnered up with the local Primary School Our Holy Redeemer who are involved in incursions and excursions as part of our Kindergarten School Readiness program.
We have a range of incursions and celebrations across the Centre including Aboriginal Smoking Ceremony, Lunar New Year Lion Dance, Dreamtime Stories, Hatching Eggs, Police incursion, Mini Beasts (insects & bugs), Diwali celebrations and 6-monthly dental check-ups.
Little tummies are filled with yummy and nutritious meals, which are prepared on site by our qualified cook daily using fresh, high quality ingredients. We believe food is fuel and it is always our priority to provide your children with the best food to fuel their growing brains. We have a range of cooking experiences that the children are involved in within their rooms.
We work collaboratively with professionals and support agencies to explore the learning potential in play so that children with additional needs and their families are provided with opportunities to learn from active participation and engagement in experiences at our service.
Communication and StoryPark:
Close relationships with families enables us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This communication is also supported through the use of our StoryPark platform, making access to children’s learning, centre events, and communications extremely user friendly. Learning opportunities are tailored to each child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
