About Goodstart Mont Albert
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Mont Albert is a warm and inviting centre with a homely feel, located in a residential area close to schools, shops and community facilities.
We have six rooms that cater for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years old, including a 3 year old and a 4 year old kindergarten program, which both focus on children's holistic development. All of the rooms are all set up in line with the Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surroundings and the greater environment. We have veggie patches in both yards and a worm farm in the Kinder yard (generously donated by Bunnings Warehouse) to increase their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Our two play areas have sandpits and an obstacle course with certified soft fall to ensure all children’s safety.
Our passionate and dedicated educators are determined to provide high quality care; all are professionally trained and have their current qualifications including first aid and anaphylaxis and some have been with us for more than 10 years.
Little tummies are filled with yummy and nutritious meals, which are prepared by our cook daily using fresh, high quality ingredients, supported by a range of cooking experiences that the children are involved in within their rooms.
We offer a range of extra-curricular activities including Happy Feet, our music and movement program, and Ready Steady Go, our sports program. We have partnered with the local Primary School, Our Holy Redeemer, whose Year 5 and 6’s visit to read to and interact with our children. The children in our funded Kinder room visit Our Holy Redeemer Primary School on excursions during the year, as part of our School Readiness program. Throughout the year, we have a range of incursions across the Centre including Aboriginal Smoking Ceremony, Lunar New Year Lion Dance, Dreamtime Stories, Hatching Eggs, Police incursion, Mini Beasts (insects & bugs), and 6-monthly dental check-ups.
A number of our educators, as well as our families, are from various cultures and backgrounds which enables us to have firsthand experiences with multicultural events such as Diwali, Lunar New Year, NAIDOC Week, Christmas and Australia Day.
We use the Storypark platform which enables us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also allows us to tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths.
We pride ourselves on being a family centric centre with children central to everything we do. Our mission is to make families, children and educators feel at home here and explore the centre freely. We look forward to meeting you and your family, and exploring how we can set your child on a pathway to lifelong learning.
