Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Penfield is an interactive, experience-based centre located just behind the RAAF base and within the convenience of suburbia. Its 12 acres of land gives children the opportunity to be immersed in a natural, rural environment.
We have large grassed outdoor play areas for children with rock areas, sand pits and a family of farm animals. All of the children are involved in the care and feeding of our sheep (and new baby lambs!), goats, chickens and ducks. We also have guinea pigs, a turkey and the farmer next door has goats and sheep which we can see from our yards. Also neighbouring the property is an equestrian centre so the children see the horses. They are also able to collect the eggs, watch the sheep be shorn and help maintain the vegetable garden. Along with the farm animals, we are lucky to have a beautiful variety of native animals on the property which we can see when exploring.
As we are situated in an Asian farming community, we expose children to that culture and we participate in special cultural events, especially Chinese New Year. Children also have the chance to experience other cultures within the centre and local community to encourage a strong sense of inclusion and acceptance. We believe in providing children with a stimulating and challenging program of learning experiences that will extend their skills and interests while learning through play.
At Goodstart Penfield, we strongly believe in supporting children’s developing life skills through unique, hands on experiences and our program is developed in line with the Early Years Learning Framework. Our learning philosophy is that the experience should be fun, developed in partnership with parents and meeting the individual needs and interests of the child.
Our centre caters for up to 85 children a day in rooms from Nursery, through to Toddler Rooms and Kindergarten / Preschool. We strive to develop strong relationships with all of our families and consider the care and education we provide is something of an extension of the family unit.
We invite you to book a tour
and take a look around, meet the team and explore how we can support your child’s early learning journey. We look forward to welcoming you and your family! (If the tour times available don’t suit you or your family’s commitments please contact us to organise a different time).
