About Goodstart Petrie
Goodstart Early Learning Petrie is located in the leafy surrounds of Petrie. We are situated close to North Pine Dam and both Petrie and Kurwongbah Primary Schools. This allows parents to continue their child’s education in one convenient location, and the children to continue on with the friends that they have made at Goodstart Early Learning.
Many of our educators have been a part of our team for a number of years, providing an exciting play-based program for each child. We are very fortunate to have Miss Kate who is our Early Childhood Teacher. Miss Kate is able to speak 3 languages, one of which is Mandarin, which is implemented into the daily program.
All of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. The educators here strive to cater to each child’s individual needs and developmental requirements.
We provide age appropriate programs weekly and ensure that each child’s individual goals are achieved. Our touch screen computers and ipads allow us to teach children about technology and investigate topics on a daily basis.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we currently have two areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. Through a balance of natural and manmade elements we are able to help familiarise the children with the various characteristics of their surrounds, while teaching them about the broader environment and the importance of sustainaibility. But at the centre of everything is fun - and the need to allow the children to stretch themselves and use their imagination.
Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
We look forward to welcoming all families throughout the journey of their child’s early years and supporting them throughout this exciting experience of a lifetime.

Megan Fisher Centre Director
Hi there! My name is Megan and I am the centre director at Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Petrie.
I have worked in the child care industry since 2002 and have gained my Certificate III, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services. During my career I have had the opportunity to work with different age groups and across the variety of areas in the industry.
I love working with children and believe that they should have access to a high quality educational program whilst in care. Our centre takes pride in creativity, presentation and community and family partnerships.
I believe that young children need positive relationships with adults who will respond to them in ways that will nurture and promote their self esteem and feelings of self worth. I strive to ensure that our educators and children have a safe and secure environment in which we can grow and learn together.
The team I am fortunate to work with share my passion for seeing children meet their potential. They are dedicated, professional, experienced and highly qualified.
We invite you to come and visit our centre to meet our team and to see for yourself our commitment to your child’s early learning journey.
