About Goodstart Rockingham
Goodstart Rockingham is a warm welcoming centre that places emphasis on the natural environment. From learning environments flooded with natural light to a playground that has been designed to encourage children’s exploration and open ended play ideas.
Each learning environment has been designed with children at the forefront, with opportunities to explore, learn and grow in respectful ways. Educators place emphasis on relationships with children and their families, where we value parents as the first teachers of their children; always adapting a holistic approach to teaching and learning. By working together we can create the best possible outcomes for children, this aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework.
Our birth to three learning environments are inspired by Magda Geber’s RIE practices and principles, which is underpinned by the theory of Emmi Pikler. We see infants and toddlers as secure, autonomous, competent and connected parts of our learning community. We treat all children with respect, this is demonstrated within each and every interaction.
We offer a Nature Kindergarten program named Barn Bodjara – Walk of the Country. Where on one day each week, our three to five year olds explore various natural areas within the Rockingham community. They choose the direction of their learning and the educators facilitate and extend the children’s learning where required. This is a unique program that is not offered in any other early childhood education setting in the Rockingham region.
We would love to invite you to book a tour at our centre and meet our wonderful team of educators and see how we can support your child on their unique learning journey.
We provide early learning & care to these groups:
Marika Hill Centre Director
Hi, I'm Marika Hill the Centre Director at Goodstart Rockingham. I have worked in the childcare industry for 20 years and hold my Advanced Diploma in Children’s services. Within my first 10 years I have had the pleasure of working with all age groups of children, providing quality care and sharing in their personal development and journey. Since then I have been a Centre Director for Goodstart.
I have three adult children of my own and often draw on my experience as a mum and a professional in the childcare sector to assist and support children and families. I truly believe that children are central to everything we do and I have a passion for coaching and mentoring the educators within my service to ensure that we are delivering best outcomes for children, making sure that your children are receiving the best start in life.
I look forward to being a part of your Goodstart journey.
