Goodstarter of the Year: Feny Belinda, the heart of Goodstart Melbourne
A national Goodies Award in 2025, recognising extraordinary community impact.
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Tatton is a purpose built centre located in Tatton on the outskirts of Wagga Wagga. We are located next to a newly established medical centre and a short drive from local schools and a shopping complex.
Our service provides high quality care and education for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years, across all five rooms. Our team of long standing dedicated educators have over 150 combined years of early childhood experience.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. We have the space for the children to explore and test theirt imaginations with mud pits, sandpits, climbing equipment, gardens, vege patches, a bike track, and lots of shade.
Our Centre Cook provides healthy and nutritional meals for all children, catering for all dietary requirements.
Our centre vision is to partner with families to inspire lifelong learning in children. Our key educator approach assists us to establish safe and secure relationships not only with the children but their families as well.
Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
We pride ourselves on our high quality programs that are inclusive of all children. In our daily practices we make every effort for children and family voices to be active within our environment.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your family and learn a little about how we can best support you on the journey of lifelong learning.

I began my journey in early childhood education in 2002, dedicating more than two decades to fostering nurturing, inclusive and engaging environments where children can grow, learn and thrive. As a mother of three, I deeply understand the importance of creating a warm, supportive space where every child feels safe, valued and encouraged to explore their world.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working closely with educators, children and families to ensure high‑quality care and meaningful learning experiences. I have also completed Trauma Informed Practice training, which enables me to better support children and families who may have experienced adversity. Advocacy for children and families — especially those facing challenges — has always been at the heart of my work.
I am incredibly proud to lead the Tatton team into 2025 and beyond, and I look forward to working alongside our families as we support each child throughout their early learning journey. Together, we will create meaningful experiences and a strong foundation for their future.
