About Goodstart Thorneside
Goodstart Early Learning Thorneside is located in close proximity to two primary schools (Birkdale and Birkdale South), Thorneside Railway Station, and is also easily accessible via bus, train or car. Our centre has been a part of the Thorneside community for ten years and has a wonderful reputation within the area.
Our child care centre provides high quality care to children aged from six weeks to five years.
All educators at Goodstart Thorneside provide ongoing support to our families and work closely with local support services. Our educators have a strong passion for early learning and a drive to ensure each and every child feels welcomed in our centre.
All of our rooms are set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning. We are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability.
The children love our outdoor playgrounds, playing in the large wooden cubby house and riding bikes around the bike track. We have a variety of gardens that the children help to take care of.
Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. We also have a dedicated community room and offer a community pantry, clothes and toy swap.
We are very lucky with our spaces and also have a dedicated music room that the children participate in small group experiences in.
We look forward to meeting you and your children. Come in and explore how we can support you on the early learning journey.

Amelia McCafferty Centre Director
I’m Amelia and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Thorneside.
I have been in the Early Learning industry for over 8 years and I have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
I have had a strong passion for inclusion of all children and families and was nominated for a HESTA award because of this. I have a strong passion for the community and try to embed this into the service.
I understand the value of learning in the first 5 years and strive to work together with my team to ensure each child’s day is full of love and learning.
I really look forward to meeting you and your family and welcoming you into our little community. We strive to ensure that each and every child has a sense of being, belonging and becoming to set them up for school and life.
