Welcome to Goodstart Early Learning Woy Woy!
We are conveniently located on Trafalgar Ave, Woy Woy, close to local primary schools, community facilities, the local fire station and Trafalgar Ave Runway Park.
Many of the local residents would remember the Goodstart Woy Woy building being used as an indoor sports/ squash centre in the 80’s before it was transformed into an Indoor Children’s play centre called Kids Camelot in early 2000’s. The building has gone through a few changes in ownership over the years, from being a privately owned childcare centre called Kidzkorp, to being owned by ABC and then in 2010 being taken over by Goodstart Early Learning, a not for profit organisation which has created the centre we have today.
Goodstart Woy Woy has been fortunate to retain the unique indoor play centre climbing equipment from the Indoor Play centre which provides opportunities for children in all rooms to develop their gross motor skills and is great for wet weather conditions.
We are passionate about embedding Key Educator Relationships within our centre, from orientation, to routines, planning and programming and much more as a way of supporting children and families to feel secure and attached. This we believe paves the way for confident and capable learners for life!
We have a team of highly skilled and dedicated educators, most of whom hold a Diploma in Children’s Services and many who have been at our centre for more than 10 years. We have four University-qualified Early Childhood Teachers across our Nursery 2 and Preschool room and all educators are committed to ongoing professional development.
Our centre caters for up to 51 children per day. We have two separate Nursery rooms, the younger of which (Birth to 18 months) we provide 2 educators for our 8 babies with an extra educator to support quality routines and experiences. This allows us to provide more personal, nurturing, higher quality care in a calm and homely environment. We offer an easy drop off for families as we provide nappies, wipes and linen.
Our older nursery room (18 months to 2 ½ years) also caters for 8 children a day with 2 educators. This room supports those needing to transition to the room, opportunities throughout the year to play and get familiar with the space and educators which makes for a lovely smooth transition. Our toddler room provides a smaller space for up to 10 children per day to engage in high quality play-based learning which creates opportunities for toilet training, independence, conflict resolution, negotiation, emotional regulation as well as numeracy and literacy.
At Goodstart Woy Woy, we offer an indoor/outdoor program for the majority of the day in our Preschool Room to allow children choice and opportunity to engage in activities that meet their individual needs. Our programs are play based and support children in their journey of lifelong learning.
We provide all meals including a light breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and regular healthy snacks throughout the day which are freshly prepared onsite by our qualified cook though our 5-star menu. We also cater for children’s medical and dietary needs and ensure our centre is Egg and Nut free. Come in and say hello! Tracey Davies
Centre Director
Hi there! I’m Tracey, the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Woy Woy. I have been with the team at Goodstart Woy Woy for over 16 years. I have a Certificate III in Children’s Services, Diploma in Children’s Services and a Bachelor of Early Childhood which I completed in 2016.
I began my journey in 2006 as a parent at the centre which inspired me to begin my studies in Early Childhood. During the practical component of my Certificate III in Children’s Services, I was fortunate enough to be given employment at the centre (then Kidzkorp) as a casual educator across all age groups in the centre.
After transitioning to a permanent role, I spent over 7 years working with the younger babies in the nursery room as Group Leader, before being given the opportunity to lead the wonderful team at Goodstart Woy Woy as Centre Director in 2015.
I am fortunate to work with a team of highly qualified and passionate early learning educators whose, commitment and experience is an asset to our centre. We pride ourselves on having a diverse team representing so many great cultures and backgrounds which brings a richness that is highly valued by the children, families, community and educators.
