Why people and social connections are the most important drivers of children’s learning
People are the curriculum. They are the environment, and they are the relationships that build children’s sense of safety and curiosity.
Welcome to Goodstart Plumpton, where children feel a strong sense of belonging as they learn, play and grow together. Located on Dharug land and close to local schools, shops and transport, our centre reflects the rich diversity of the community we serve. Through inclusive, play-based learning and strong relationships with families, children are supported to build confidence, identity and a love of learning. What makes our centre special:
Each day, children are encouraged to explore, create and connect through meaningful play experiences that reflect their interests and strengths. Educators work closely with families to support each child’s development, wellbeing and sense of identity.
Our centre embraces diversity, with educators speaking a wide range of languages including Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, Punjabi, Urdu and Spanish. This helps children feel understood and supported while strengthening communication with families.
Children benefit from regular incursions designed to support physical, social and emotional development, creating opportunities to learn new skills and build confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our recently upgraded outdoor and indoor spaces, including new flooring and kitchen improvements, provide modern, comfortable environments for children to learn and play. Fresh, nutritious meals are prepared onsite each day to support children’s health and wellbeing.

I have worked in the child care profession all my adult life, Since qualified, I have worked in childcare in both Uk and Australia. I believe that as a childcare professional we are in a privileged position to support children on their individual learning journey.
I have been fortunate to attend a study tour to Reggio Emilia, Italy which highlighted for me how important meaningful interactions are to support children develop a sense of self, curiosity and passion for discovery and learning. I believe that our daily interaction and experiences are the building blocks of our leaning, and the importance of fostering children’s sense of belonging and learning as part of a community.
I have been privileged to work with children and families in a range of socio-economic backgrounds, and believe that all children deserve the opportunity to experience and have access to the best quality learning environments and experiences possible. I strive to ensure that all our families are made welcome as an extension of our community.
We have an open-door policy at Plumpton, and we believe that to work in collaboration with our families is integral to children successful learning and growth.
