Goodstart Mount Waverley
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Mount Waverley is located in a quiet corporate business district, just off the Monash freeway.
We believe that all children have the right to learn and grow in a warm, accepting and nurturing environment. We believe that Parents, Guardians and Families are children’s first teachers and we as educators work alongside them to provide a cohesive learning and developmental platform.

We facilitate the children’s learning and balance their rights, needs and feelings with that of others. We truly embrace our cultural diversity and celebrate all that has and will continue to form who we are and have the potential to become.
Inside our centre, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities.
Our Storypark platform enables us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. We have a balance of natural and manmade elements and lots of area for the children to explore and let their imaginations roam with sandpits, vege patches, a bike path, pergola, worm farm, citrus trees and lots of shade.
All meals are prepared on site by our qualified cook who uses tasty, fresh and nutritional ingredients – just the thing to keep hungry tummies satisfied.
Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
We constantly strive for improvement and pride ourselves on providing a program that is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, and that Exceeds the National Quality Standard.

Centre Director
Hi, I’m Vanessa Han and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Mount Waverley.
My name is Vanessa, and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Mount Waverley. My teaching journey began back in 2003, where I worked with children with hearing impairment, delivering language training to support their transition into mainstream education.
I then spent many years in primary education, specialising in accelerated mathematics and second language programs. My extensive experience in teaching eventually led me to early childhood education, where I discovered my true passion. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing young children grow, explore and achieve those precious milestones step by step.
I believe every child is unique, with their own individual pace of growth and learning. All our centre’s decision-making is child-centred, built around respecting each child’s interests, strengths and needs. Children thrive when they feel seen, valued and empowered to follow their curiosity, ask questions and freely express themselves.
We strongly believe in collaborative teamwork. Together with our educators and families, we create a safe, warm and inclusive learning environment — a joyful space tailored for every child, where they can build confidence, independence, social skills and a lifelong love of learning.
As a mum to two teenage daughters, I have lived in the Mount Waverley local community for many years. I am deeply committed to contributing to our neighbourhood and building genuine, trusting partnerships with every family here at our centre. I look forward to welcoming you and your child to Goodstart Mount Waverley.

Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
