Welcome to Goodstart Rowville – Stud Road!

We're huge fans of outdoor learning and play; passing on respect and awareness of our natural world is one of our values. From our large yards to encourage sports enthusiasts to run wild, to our vege garden to excite any budding chefs, and our bush kinder program is perfect for everyone!

We pride ourselves on our multicultural community, and we celebrate a wide range of cultures and traditions. Ensuring every child, family and educator feels seen, heard and welcome.

Bush kinder is an outdoor education program recognised by ACEEQA. We love it because children learn while they do what comes naturally: run, jump, play in puddles, climb trees, jump off rocks and explore. It also teaches them various vital social and emotional skills like resilience, critical thinking, and how to assess risk safely. We also take bush walks whenever possible and join the community garden across the road from our centre.
There are so many amazing outdoor adventures and learning opportunities to be had!
We strongly believe that early learning extends beyond the reading, writing and mathematics, and incorporates all areas of a child’s development. We also value a collaborative approach with families and educators to best meet the needs of our little learners. So, we are proud to offer a wide array of regular incursions and programs to our families – all included when you join us. These incursions include:

- Mandarin/ English language program
- Bush kinder

It’s not just our kinder children that benefit from this level of additional support, but all our children across all rooms!
The challenges of starting school go beyond academics. We do everything we can to ensure our pre-preps are given every opportunity to succeed in their first year of school and beyond.
• A buddy program with local primary school children and our kinder 4 children.
• Excursions to local schools and practice mornings.
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote Key Educator relationships between our educators and children.
Your child will have at least one Key Educator who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. We keep families informed with regular updates on their child's progress and we welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

Shaheen Hulavale

Centre Director

Hi, I’m Shaheen Hulavale and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Rowville - Stud Road.

I moved to Australia in 2013. I have a completed my Master’s in Clinical Research (Pharmacy) and have worked in different sectors of pharmacy for nine years.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management and a Diploma in Children’s Services and Community Sector. I have been in the industry for eight years and have spent time working with all age groups and have been part of the leadership team for two years.

In my role as a Centre Director, I will have the opportunity to lead and empower a team of Educators to provide high quality learning outcomes for the children and a strong connection with families and community.

I strongly believe in the saying “It takes a village to raise a child” and hence strive to provide a home away from home environment for children and families which is safe and secured providing a strong sense of belonging to the children and the families.

We encourage children to learn at their own pace through play-based learning in high-quality educational programs and have opportunities to explore their environments to build strong social, language, and emotional skills.

I value parents as our children’s first teachers as my vision is to ensure that all our families and children feel secure and supported here at the centre A place where they feel safe, respected and supported and included socially and emotionally. Being a mum myself, I understand the importance for families to find a perfect place for their children where along with the children achieving their milestones can have their feedbacks and suggestions incorporated in the child’s development positively.

I love to connect with the wider community, families and learn about different cultures. We often incorporate this learning to educate our children and shape them into individuals who can contribute positively to the community. I feel fortunate to be a part of a great community where I can connect and collaborate with local businesses and schools for a purpose.

When I’m not in the centre, I love working out, going for walks or spending time with my family especially my two girls, most likely at the parks and beaches.

At Goodstart Rowville – Stud Road we have a very strong and dedicated team of Educators, and we strive to provide a safe, peaceful, and natural environment that engages children's five senses, provoking wonder, curiosity, and intellectual engagement.
