Welcome to Goodstart Early Learning Albury Mate Street – a place where children feel they belong, families feel supported and lifelong friendships begin.

For more than 20 years, our early learning community has been part of Albury. While we've moved from our long-standing home on Banff Avenue to our beautiful new centre on Mate Street, the caring relationships, experienced educators and commitment to giving every child the very best start in life remain the same.

As a trusted local early learning centre, we warmly welcome families from Central Albury, North Albury, East Albury, Lavington and Jindera. We know that choosing an early learning centre is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we're committed to creating a place where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to learn.

From our nurturing nursery through to our government-approved kindergarten program, our age-based learning environments are thoughtfully designed to support each child's development, curiosity and confidence. Along the way, children build meaningful friendships, develop essential life skills and become part of a caring community where families create lasting connections too.

What truly sets Goodstart Albury Mate Street apart is our people. Many of our passionate educators have been part of our centre and the local community for more than 20 years, creating the consistent, trusting relationships that children need to flourish.

Our Key Educator approach helps every child build strong bonds with familiar faces, giving them confidence to explore, learn and grow each day.

Our enriching learning program includes exciting incursions and experiences with dance and movement, helping children discover new interests, build confidence and express themselves through movement, creativity and play.

Our approved kindergarten program is led by four qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teachers, preparing children with the skills, confidence and love of learning they'll carry into school and beyond.

Above everything else, children's safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to child safeguarding, creating an inclusive, welcoming environment where every child is respected, protected and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Welcome, My name is Melinda I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Albury- Mate Street.

For over 20 years, I've had the joy of working with this centre alongside children, families and educators in early childhood education. It's a privilege to continue leading the wonderful community we've built over many years, bringing our experienced team and trusted relationships from Banff Avenue into our new home at Mate Street.

As Centre Director, my focus is on creating a centre where every child, family, and educator feels supported, valued, and connected. I believe that great leadership is about building strong relationships and nurturing a positive, caring culture.

My approach to leading our centre is based on collaboration, compassion, integrity, and continuous growth. I see our centre as a community where every voice matters and every moment is an opportunity to learn.

Structured Preschool Program

At Albury - Mate Street, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a preschool program and long day care under the one roof. Our preschool teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

With multi-child discounts and government funded Kindergarten/Preschool in some states, out-of-pocket costs could be even less than you think!

The above fees are effective from 6 July 2026 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.

* Estimates are calculated based on CCS rates as of January 2026, for an activity level of 72 activity hours on a 10hr session and a 3 day booking.
