At Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Oakhurst is located in a convenient spot close to schools and shops and main roads, making it convenient and stress-free for the daily drop-off and pick-up.
Our goal is to provide a safe and happy environment for children, taking into account each child’s family, community and culture, we aim to build a sense of Belonging, Being and Becoming within the service.
We cater for children between the ages of two and five years. We have two rooms in the centre providing care for pre-kindy (2 – 3.5 years) and for pre-school (3.5 – 6 years).
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Communication between families and educators is an important aspect and our team of experienced, dedicated and qualified educators work in partnership with families to cater for each child’s individual needs.
This is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which along with parent nights, newsletters, daily catch-ups and emails, enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.
We encourage our families and community members to be active contributors and participants in our program and our centre. We welcome parent and community feedback so our centre can continually improve.
Outside, our playground areas are a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces.
We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam. We provide hands on experience such as a vegetable garden, chickens and a water tank that children can access at any time.
Community is also a fundamental value for our centre. As such we participate and support a variety of community events such as, Australia’s biggest morning tea, Daffodil day, RSPCA, and we liaise with local schools in the area to help support children transition from pre-school to kindergarten. Our centre is part of SDN Beranga supporting children with Autism for the past two years.
Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
Come in and see for yourself how we can help give your child the best start in life – and give you peace of mind! We would love the chance to show you around.
