Our centre is located in the local community of Mardi on the Central Coast, conveniently located on Woodbury Park drive, across the road from Westfield Tuggerah.

We educate and care for children between six weeks and six years old across three indoor learning spaces. The learning environments at Goodstart Woodbury Park are designed with a focus on natural play spaces and child-led play especially utilising loose parts and wooden resources. We engage in excursions to Westfield Tuggerah and once a month our preschool children attend story time at Tuggerah Library. Our nursery children also go for walks to the local park for morning tea and a play using our four-seater pram.

Our nursery learning space is a small and homely environment, where the educations work with families to follow individual children routines.

The toddler learning space caters for children aged 18 months to three years. In this enviornment, there is a focus on loose parts and natural play, incorporating children’s interests. We offer indoor/outdoor environments for children to allow them to choose which environment they would like to engage in.

Our preschool/kindergarten learning space features natural elements with a strong focus on loose parts. We are on a journey to remove all plastic resources from our environment to allow children to engage with open ended natural learning opportunities.

Our outdoor learning spaces include vegetable gardens - we use the produce in our centre kitchen. We also have chickens, guinea pigs, a bird, fish and stick insects that our children engage with and learn from. We are passionate about natural spaces and allowing children to explore our large trees, spaces of real grass and large garden beds.

Our early learning educational programs cater to each individual child's stage of development.  Our curriculum is centred around the Early Years Learning Framework and is tailored to your child's unique strengths, needs and interests.

With a highly experienced team on board, Goodstart Woodbury Park offers your family high quality early learning and care.  All of our experienced educators hold formal qualifications, including Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching degrees, Certificate III and Diplomas in Children’s Services and are passionate about delivering a leading early learning curriculum in a welcoming and inspiring environment.

Our school readiness goals focus on supporting children to transition to school and we have close connections with local schools such as Tuggerah Public School.

We use Storypark to share your child's learning. This industry leading program lets you see the learning experiences of your child and allows you to interact with educators to enable real connections between what your child learns at Goodstart Woodbury Park and what happens at home.

We have a large turning circle located right outside the centre’s doors for convenient drop offs and pick-ups, with on-site parking also available.

Alison Burnett

Centre Director
Hello, my name is Alison Burnett, and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Woodbury Park.

I bring more than 33 years of experience in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, including 18 years with Goodstart Early Learning across New South Wales and Western Australia in both Centre Director and Area Manager roles. Most recently, I spent five years leading Goodstart Cameron Park before transitioning to Woodbury Park to work closer to home and continue my leadership journey within the Goodstart community.

I am passionate about ensuring children develop the learning, development and wellbeing capabilities they need for life. My leadership approach is grounded in research that highlights the critical importance of relationships in early brain development. As Professor of Child Health and Development at the Harvard School of Public Health and Graduate School of Education, Dr Jack Shonkoff (2002) explains:

“We have some amazingly compelling neuroscience that shows us how the quality of the relationships that children have with the important people in their lives, the interactions and the feelings that go with those relationships, actually influence the emerging architecture of the brain.”

This research underpins my strong commitment to the Circle of Security approach and key educator relationships, ensuring children feel safe, secure and supported.

At Woodbury Park, I am committed to:

  • Supporting children to develop a strong sense of identity, wellbeing and belonging (EYLF Outcomes 1 & 3)
  • Creating environments that promote confident and involved learners (EYLF Outcome 4)
  • Encouraging meaningful communication and strong partnerships with families (EYLF Outcome 5 & Outcome 2)

My leadership focus also aligns closely with the National Quality Framework, particularly:

  • Quality Area 1 – Educational Program and Practice: Ensuring high-quality, intentional teaching and continuous improvement
  • Quality Area 2 – Children’s Health and Safety: Promoting wellbeing, secure attachments and safe environments
  • Quality Area 6 – Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities: Building strong, respectful partnerships with families
  • Quality Area 7 – Governance and Leadership: Fostering a positive professional learning culture and strong team leadership

I value building a positive, inclusive culture where educators feel empowered and families feel connected and heard. When educators and families work together, children thrive.

I look forward to meeting you, getting to know your child, and working alongside our dedicated team to provide a nurturing and high-quality early learning environment for every child at Goodstart Woodbury Park.
