At Goodstart Crestmead – Julie Street, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways.
We prioritise:
Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners.
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them.
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.
At our Crestmead – Julie Street centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our kindergarten program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start school.
At Goodstart, we believe all children deserve the best possible start in life, which includes access to high-quality early childhood education and care. We offer:
We work closely with parents to ensure the individual needs, interests and strengths of children are considered, and our learning goals reflect them. Using Storypark, a wonderful communication platform, we stay in close touch with families and ensure you're well informed about your child's development and achievements.

Julie street good start is an amazing kindy. All the ladies in nursery are wonderful and have been so helpful and patient with me being a first time mum. Couldn't recommend a better kindy

I have worked for Goodstart for 15 years now originally based at Browns Plains, I made the move this year in January 2026 to take on a new chapter and work within a community of families and children I felt I could support and make a difference in using my many years of business and personal experience in the sector.
My Background
I began my journey in childcare back in 2005 where I started just helping out on different days but found that working with children and the difference you can make in their lives a huge impact that I wanted to be a part of for the rest of my life. I worked for many years on the floor with children and in 2012 was given the chance to be a contact director where I got the best of both worlds (mentoring amazing educators and continuing to work directly with children).
In 2016 and 2018 I had 2 amazing children who have given me the passion to truly advocate for the rights of all children and the importance every little thing makes in their lives. I think all children are individuals who need their own support and its up to us to provide that so they feel safe and happy while in our care.
Our Community
Crestmead is a welcoming, family friendly, strong spirited community who are known for pulling together and supporting in any way they can. There is always someone around to give a smile or share a friendly wave to brighten your day. Our centre community is full of loving families, children and educators and you can feel it the moment you walk through the door.
My Philosophy
Children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that is enriching and stimulating. When children are encouraged to interact with their peers and adults in positive ways, they feel safe to explore their surroundings. I believe that I am responsible for providing young children with positive learning experiences. I model respect, patience, and care for children and adults I come in contact with. Children have the right to have their needs met no matter what and receive the proper education while in the care of their educators.
My Commitment
My door is always open and you can talk to me about anything. I promise to do whatever I can to support you and your family to the best of my ability or find support from someone who can. Communication is a huge part of your childs journey at our service and will end with the best outcomes for you and your child.
Come down and meet us and see our beautiful centre. Stay for a play...we would love to meet you and your family.
