Goodstart Early Learning Thorneside is in close proximity to two primary schools (Birkdale and Birkdale South), Thorneside Railway Station, and is also easily accessible via bus, train or car. Our centre has been a part of the Thorneside community for eleven years and has a wonderful reputation within the area.
We offer our children a rich learning environment which caters for the different developmental needs and interests through a play-based curriculum. Our childcare centre provides high quality care to children aged from six weeks to five years.
We have an amazing Centre Leadership team, with our educators at Goodstart Thorneside working with our families collaboratively to meeting their children’s developmental goals and building ongoing working relationships with local support services. Our educators have a strong passion for early learning and a drive to ensure each child voice is heard, and needs catered for while feeling welcomed in a safe and inviting environment each day.
All of our rooms -from Nursery to Kindergarten- are set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning guidelines Through engaging and inviting experiences we ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, hand on investigation play-based learning. We are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all the important steps leading up to school readiness.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Thanks to our Centre cook we provide healthy and nutritious meals being morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. We offer a rotating seasonal menu, babies first puree and a variety of fruit and vegies. We cater for all children’s dietary requirements, preferences and cultural requirements while being allergy and anaphylaxis aware.
Outside, we have two age-appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability and caring for the environment through looking after our gardens.
Community is important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we can enrich each child’s learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided daily which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
We look forward to meeting you and your children. Come in and explore how we can support you on the early learning journey.
