At Goodstart Blackburn South, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways.
We prioritise:
Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners.
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them.
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.
At our Blackburn South centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our three and four-year-old kindergarten program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start school.
At Goodstart, we believe all children deserve the best possible start in life, which includes access to high-quality early childhood education and care. We offer:
We work closely with parents to ensure the individual needs, interests and strengths of children are considered, and our learning goals reflect them. Using Storypark, a wonderful communication platform, we stay in close touch with families and ensure you're well informed about your child's development and achievements.

My career in Early Learning:
I studied at Swinburne TAFE and received my Diploma of Children’s services in 2015, I have worked here at Goodstart Blackburn South for 15 years.
I started out as a Room Leader working in the Nursery room for 10 years, I have now been in the Centre Director role for the last 5 years.
â—¾ Care and Empathy for children
â—¾ Love and Comfort for all children
I strongly believe that your child’s first experiences in early childhood education should be positive as it establishes their attitude for learning for their whole life.
Children should feel safe and secure in their environment and should have really strong bonds with the Educators that care for them. We encourage families to call in to visit us at any time.
Our centre prides itself on the array of cultures we have within our Team and within our families who attend the centre.
The people! From a quick morning hello, to the amazing support given by all our wonderful families who attend our centre and the supporting businesses around us.
When I’m not in the centre, you’ll find me being a busy Mumma of 3 year old girl/boy twins, enjoying coffee with friends and being around my family.
At Goodstart Blackburn South, we strive to provide a safe, peaceful and natural environment for the children, lots of dedicated Educators who have been here for more than 20 years and comforting arms to walk into every day.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family.
