Goodstart Newtown is a six-room child care centre catering for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old. We have a funded Kindergarten program with passionate, dedicated educators.
Each educator has their own special talents which they share with the children. Some having cultural backgrounds or creative skills that are shared throughout the centre. We embed key educator relationships, where an educator is responsible to enhance a child’s growth and development.
Goodstart Newtown’s philosophy is to provide children with the highest quality of care allowing each and every child to reach their fullest potential.
Goodstart Newtown strives to provide a warm, caring and home environment that is a reflection of our children, families, educators and our community. We pride ourselves on our implementation of sustainable practices, where the children are taught to reduce, re-use and recycle materials, food and waste.
Majority of our educators hold their Diploma of Children’s services or are studying towards their Diploma or Bachelor. We have a Kindergarten teacher who holds her Masters of Teaching.
In addition to this we have three bachelor trained teachers and one studying towards. All educators have a wonderful knowledge of the National Quality Framework. Our Education Leader onsite guides all educators on exceeding the National Quality Framework.
Our child care centre has an on-site cook who prepares nutritionally balanced meals, also catering for special dietary requirements.
Our centre is located on Aberdeen Street in the heart of Geelong, Newtown. Located just off Latrobe Terrace and in walking distance to the CBD and Geelong train station. We are close to supermarkets, shops, schools and medical centres. Public transport is easily accessible having a bus stop out the front of our centre.
We also have centre pets such as bunny rabbits, fish and the occasional puppy. The children enjoy learning how to care and play with pets safely.

Hello, my name is Katie Sinclair and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Newtown. I have been working in the industry for 13 years; 9 years at this Centre in which I started off as Assistant Director. I then became Director in 2015.
My passion is Early Childhood education and making sure the children at our centre develop to their full potential.
Early Childhood education is such a vital part of the child’s wellbeing and have learnt this being a mum of three young girls and one boy on the way, and believe that the educators will let them develop the tools they need to grow into strong social and emotional human beings.
The most important thing for me is the interactions that happen on a daily basis between educators and children, here at Goodstart Newtown we are a family and make sure you feel comfortable leaving your child in our hands.

Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
