Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Thornbury is tucked away in a quiet part of suburbia but still conveniently close to schools, shops and public transport.

We are a 44-place centre catering to children in rooms from Nursery through to Kindergarten / Preschool. Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and developed taking into careful consideration the individual needs, interests and strengths of each child.

Communication and the involvement of families and parents is a key part of our philosophy and as such, our Storypark platform enables us to stay in touch and be in the know about any important developments, issues or milestones in the children’s lives.

All of our staff are well trained, highly experienced and very friendly. We are a close team and have built many lasting friendships along the way. We ensure that everyone is comfortable and enjoys their time here at Goodstart Early Learning Thornbury.

Outside, we have large play areas with vege patches, digging areas and a balance of natural and manmade elements to test the children’s skills and encourage sensory and play based learning – and lots of imagination!

When play makes tummies growl with hunger, we have a kitchen and cook on site to provide nutritious and delicious meals.

Our centre loves to celebrate special occasions and encourages all parents to participate in them. Some events include Mother's day, Father's day, Pyjama day and many more. The children enjoy special event days, especially coming in their favourite costumes and showing all their friends.

Learning
Your centre has three separate and spacious age-based learning spaces, including a nursery, a toddler learning space, with a three-year-old and four-year-old kindergarten space. 

In all our rooms, from Nursery to Kindergarten, our educational program and practices are set-up in line with the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
Through sensory and play-based learning we offer your child the highest level of early education, while supporting and promoting their individual needs, interests, and strengths.


The Team
Our Team is passionate, caring, qualified and participate in professional development programs.
At Goodstart Thornbury we have many long-standing Educators; some have been with us for over 20 years.
We are a multicultural centre with bilingual staff. We have Arabic, Punjabi, Hindi, and Vietnamese, Japanese, italian speakers, which assists us in fostering a sense of belonging for families from similar cultural backgrounds.

Extras!
We use the Storypark app to send you stories, photos, videos, and messages while your child is at Goodstart.
We have a pet turtle names Tuck. She is ten years old and enjoys welcoming all our families in the morning. She also likes to go for walks to get some vitamin D with the children as they play.
 
To foster our relationship with our local community, we participate in community events and celebrations which also enrich the learning experience.

At Goodstart your child will receive a hat, t-shirt, meals, and snacks (we supply nappies for your baby too.)
