Hello!
Hello!

Winter is coming – and Goodstart is ready!

Goodstart stories

As the colder months approach, Goodstart is preparing for the expected seasonal increase in illnesses and cold or potentially wet (or snowy!) weather, as we continue our work to minimise the transmission of COVID-19 in our centres.

We have learned so much through our navigation of the pandemic thus far and will confidently rely on our COVID Shields and the ‘three Vs’ to keep children and educators safe and healthy this winter: Ventilation, Very warm clothes and Vaccination.

As much as possible, our centres will be keeping doors and windows open for ventilation and will be taking learning outside. Parents will be asked to pack enough layers of clothing to ensure children are kept warm and dry while they enjoy outdoor and wet weather play!

Our educators will be encouraged to be fully vaccinated for both COVID-19 and influenza before winter hits, and each centre will be continuing to operate to its COVID Shield; Goodstart’s centre level COVID Safe Plans.

Where necessary, our team members will wear their masks indoors, implement outdoor or foyer drop offs and pick ups and turn on our other controls to ensure that the potential for transmission of COVID-19 is kept to an absolute minimum.

Goodstart’s highest priority is the health and safety of our children, teams, families, and the wider community.
In 2021, Goodstart received national recognition for its COVID-19 safety approach winning the ‘Large Enterprise Health and Safety Excellence Award’, at the national Australian Workplace Health and Safety Awards. Learn more.
