Goodstart gets behind St Vincent de Paul

Goodstart stories

Imagine the joy that comes when a family sits down to a substantial meal with all the festive trimmings to celebrate Christmas.

That’s the inspiration for the children, parents and staff of Goodstart Early Learning as they generously hand over more than 100 hampers and boxes laden with food and other Christmas goodies to give to the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland’s Christmas drive.

“For the ninth year in a row, dozens of Brisbane families will be overjoyed by receiving a hamper thank to Goodstart Early Learning’s generosity,” Vinnies Brisbane region executive officer Ray O’Donnell said.

“Last Christmas we assisted more than 2730 people across Brisbane, 1.151 of those were children and we have the privilege of helping connect these hampers with the families who need them most.”

Goodstart Early Learning area manager Melissa Henderson said it was a wonderful opportunity for the organisation to show their ongoing support to St Vincent de Paul Society and help families in need celebrate the festive season.

“Everyone loves getting involved. Each year families and staff go above and beyond to help those struggling this Christmas. We have a tremendous show of generosity here in our head office but many of centres are also collecting and delivering hampers in their local areas which is great,” she said

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the children, families and staff to connect with their community and help families in need. It’s great to see the children learn about the true spirit of giving at Christmas time. We are delighted to once again be part of such an important initiative that will bring some joy and comfort to those in need.”
