Recently the Victorian Premier announced that Melbourne would move to Stage 4 restrictions to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Victoria.
Stage 4 restrictions are in place from 6pm Sunday August 2 for Metropolitan Melbourne.
New restrictions will apply to early learning centres and schools in this area from Thursday 6 August 2020.
Under Stage 4 restrictions early learning centres will remain open to support children of 'permitted workers' and those considered vulnerable.
Further confirmation around 'permitted worker' eligibility is expected to be provided in the coming days.
Goodstart centres in Victoria remain open and committed to supporting families across the state.
We continue to maintain the very strict health and hygiene practices that have been in place throughout COVID-19.
Our commitment to the ongoing health, safety and wellbeing of children and our educators in our centres remains our first priority and we will continue to provide essential learning and care for families across Victoria.
