Goodstart Magill Penfold Road opens
Goodstart Magill Penfold Road has officially opened its doors today, welcoming more than 120 children, 18 employees, four guinea pigs and three chickens.
The new, purpose-built centre replaces Goodstart Magill, which will be redeveloped during the next 12-18 months.
Goodstart Magill Penfold Road centre director Bianca Edom said Magill Penfold Road would have an increased capability of 90 places over six learning spaces.
The centre’s design leads the way with key features from Goodstart Early Learning’s centre design standards including the new reception desk as well as local touches such as recycled bricks and fruit trees from the old house that once occupied the site.
“We’re all really excited to be moving into a new centre that’s been built for purpose,” Ms Edom said.
“All of the team have been with me here for a number of years and they will all come over and have been really looking forward to it.”
“Penfolds Winery is just up the road from our centre and so there is a very strong wine-making culture in this area.
"The former owners of the new Goodstart site made wine here and even had a cellar underneath the house so we want to remember this and include the history at our centre," Ms Edom said.
