About Goodstart Bakewell
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Bakewell is located in a residential area, close to schools, local shops and community services.
Our centre caters for children from six weeks of age to school age children across our Nursery, Toddler and Preschool rooms.
Children are central to everything we do
We pride ourselves in establishing and maintaining professional, trusting relationships, where children feel confident in their environment, enabling them to feel safe, connected and get the best possible learning outcomes. We enhance children’s relationships and wellbeing using core techniques such as welcome spaces, our key educator approach and play stations.
We approach everything with a profound and personal respect for the individual, their culture and beliefs.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. During 2017 our large natural outdoor yard received an upgrade and now includes a river bed rock pool, bike track, sandpit and swing area. Our play areas are inviting and fun with lots of shade to help beat the summer heat! Given our climate, we can enjoy the outdoors all year around.
We also have a qualified cook, who provides all nutritional meals for the children throughout the day. All meals are nutritionally balanced.
Being a valued part of each unique community
We pride ourselves in our work with the community through our strong relationships with local businesses and support services. Through our centre visitors program and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity. We are proud to be a sponsor of the Palmerston Radiers' Junior Rugby
