Hello, my name is Silky Sandhu and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Belair.
I have been in the Early Childhood industry for the past 13 years. With a Masters Degree of Mass Communication, I started my career as a Primary School Teacher and soon moved to Australia and started again in the early childhood sector in which I have worked in various roles ranging from Educator, Team Leader, Educational Leader, Assistant Director and Director. This has provided me with not only the skills and tools I need to succeed in leading and mentoring my team, but also provided me with a great understanding, knowledge and experience of the industry.
I am not only passionate about mentoring Educators and ensuring each child’s learning is led by endless possibilities, but also passionate about advocating for children voices and importance of high-quality Education in Early Childhood. I am always keen to share my knowledge and help others grow.
Being a mum of two girls I know the importance of Education in Early Childhood. I believe each child is unique and learns in different ways. I believe the first five years of life are important, because what happens in early childhood can matter for a lifetime. We help establish the foundation needed for a lifetime of educational success.
I am a firm believer that all relationships are built on trust. We honour and respect the trust families place in us when leaving their children in our care. This trust is gained by having open lines of communication, sharing ideas and feedback as well as being inclusive to all. It’s especially rewarding to have a job where I receive smiles, hugs, laughter, drawings, and get to enjoy the great moments that each child brings on a daily basis. I look forward to being a step in each child’s ladder of life experiences. Thank you for giving me the privilege to work with your most precious possession.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family and discussing how we can support you and your child on the pathway to lifelong learning.
